Ernest J. Thompson, Jr. (July 1, 1923 – June 4, 2011) was was a lifelong Hightstown resident, and a graduate of the Peddie School and Hightstown High School. He received his bachelors degree from Bucknell University in 1949. Worshipful Brother Thompson was a sergeant in the United States Army during World War II, and was a Squad Leader with the 75th Infantry Division.
As an active member of his community, Worshipful Brother Thompson served on the Borough Council, was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Hightstown, a member of the American Legion Post #148, Southenders Softball team, the 75th Division Association, the Hightstown Housing Commission, and the Hightstown Republican Association. He retired from Transamerica DeLaval after 35 years of service as the Assistant Manager of Commercial Operations.
